Wait! What? No Carving??

I am not only posting this, because I work at Paper Source, but because I always get sadden with how fast my pumpkins rot after carving them. This is an awesome way to still be decorative and lasting. Also purchased the Sticky Pumpkin Faces, that I can't wait to use! Check out their BLOG for instructions!

DIY: Dress Hemming

If some of you are like me and find the cutest thrifted dresses, but find that they are just too long. You are just in luck, I found this very easy DIY Dressing Hemming Tips from Jarvis and Janis Blog, that helped me hem up this cute dress given to me by my dear friend Perla who sells tons of awesome vintage dresses, check out her site HERE! Below is the before and after picture, I was able to cut about 8 inches from the original length.

P.S. Basic sewing skills is all you need!

Saturday Craft Day

Hello everyone! Sorry for the lack of posts lately, but much as been happening
these days. Helping The Holtkamp's move into there first home, getting ready for this
weekends MS 150 bike ride from Houston to Austin, Easter, birthday celebrations and so on,
but I am happy to say BHYL is ready to start up blogging again, so here we go:
This past Saturday, I hosted The Crafty Houstonistas craft day rather
than our usual 2nd Thursday of the month, because of some not being
able to attend on Thursday. I was very excited about the craft I was going to
show everyone, becuase I've been seeing them everywhere on Etsy & I really wanted a pair.
GEOMETRIC EARRINGS!
It is a very easy and quick craft, not a lot of supplies needed or craft skills, for the ones not so crafty.
I stumbled across the idea from Dismount Creative, click HERE for DIY Instructions!

Felt Owl Ornament by Stelabird

Found this awesome blog post by Stelabird the
other day for a DIY Felt Owl Ornament
I told myself since I have one more final to go
I have to get back into my crafting ways, because it has been too
long, so I gave it a try and here is how it turned out :
Loving the end result!
I made a few changes though:
- added different buttons for the eyes,
- left out the belly part so it would just be the face and
- used embroidery floss thread instead of regular sewing thread.
For some more awesome DIY Projects check out
