Happy First Day of AUGUST Everyone!

Very excited for this month, because it means it is time for 

Houston Restaurant Weeks in Houston.

From August 1st. - 31st.

Houston Restaurant Week was established in 2003. 

Now called Houston Restaurant Weeks, 

the event showcases and promotes Houston's 

incredible array of fine restaurants to the fine dining 

crowd while raising money for the Houston Food Bank.

Your dining dollars will make a difference!

It was founded and chaired by Cleverley Stone,

 HRW is planned by volunteers so that 100% of funds 

raised are donated to the Houston Food Bank.

HOW IT WORKS:

1. Choose if you would like lunch or dinner:

$35 Dinner - 3 Courses (4 courses at some restaurants)
Restaurants donate $5 per dinner sold to the Houston Food Bank

$20 Lunch- 2 Courses (3 courses at some restaurants)
Restaurants donate $3 per lunch sold to the Houston Food Bank

3. Make a reservation though OpenTable.

and 4. just show up to your reservation

 and eat great food for a great cause.

Bits of Sunday Brunch

The Holtkamp's (older sister & husband) planned a 

Mother's Day Brunch for our Momma.

Cafe de Holtkamp Brunch Menu consisted of:

I Heart Thursdays

I love Thursdays, well now that I don't have to go to work. I get to wake up later, which doesn't happen, because my body has its own alarm clock, ride my bike around the neighborhood in the morning, and have a nice lunch with my friend Caitlin before class, which we are going to make into a habit every Thursday at a new place for the rest of the semester. So far we have gone to Niko Niko's at the Market Square and Frank's Pizza on Travis and today we went to Treebeards also on Travis, had a delicious bowl of Seafood Gumbo that I highly recommend.

MUSIC

Now on to the MUSIC! After last Thursday's Cold War Kids show I've been listening to there latest album, "Mine is Yours", very different from there old stuff, but I really like it, give it a listen on there Myspace. 

I also found this awesome Tumblr called hrrrthrrr. She made a Playlist of songs she loved, which you can also download HERE. She had "Plenty is Never Enough", a cover by The Shins originally by Tenement Halls, which I am addicted to at the moment.
